The STELLA pendant light and the BABABIN wastepaper bin by koziol have been awarded with one of Germany’s leading design prizes, the iF design award 2012. The glittering, facet-cut pendant light was created by koziol’s in-house design team, whereas the bin was conceived by London-based designer Cairn Young. The high-calibre jury was impressed with the outstanding quality of the two exhibits’ design.
Since its foundation in 1953, the iF Design Award, still known to many as Die gute Industrieform, has been known and recognized the world over as a hallmark of excellence in design. The international expert jury, composed of 44 famous designers from all around the world, will discuss and evaluate all entries over a period of three days.
The iF design award 2012 winners will take part in several exhibitions next year: the iF design exhibition in Hanover, taking place at the exhibition grounds at the same time as CeBIT, 6 to 10 March 2012, and for the
first time the iF design exhibition in Hamburg, which runs for several months. In addition, further appearances at exhibitions abroad have been scheduled.
Further information on the iF design awards 2012 as well as additional press releases are available on the iF

iF INTERNATIONAL FORUM DESIGN GmbH and iF INDUSTRIE FORUM DESIGN e. V.
For almost 60 years to date, iF Industrie Forum Design e.V has had strong ties with the city of Hanover. Having succeeded the Sonderschau formgerechter Industrieerzeugnisse in 1953, the association was given a partner in
2002, the iF International Forum Design GmbH, to take charge of all of its business sectors. A traditional institution devoted to the promotion of design was transformed into a modern service provider successfully
operating at the juncture between design and economy. As a result, the company was able to help design services succeed in the economic context and raise public awareness of design. Due to the iF awards in
particular, iF has established its reputation as a prestigious and enduringly popular trademark. With offices in Munich, Taipei, Korea and Brazil, where it now also offers local representation, iF has increased its portfolio of services.
